Growing and monetizing an audience is truly a dream come true for all the writers out there.

Many start, but very few make it.

In today's issue, I'm going to tell you the basics of how you can grow and monetize your audience.

Let's start.

1. Be consistent with posting and engaging

This is not the time first I'm telling you this: consistency is the real deal in the content creation journey.

But only posting daily at the same time is not all.

Here are the things you need to follow.

  • Post more in the early days ( as a newbie, quantity > quality ). That's how you get better.
  • Reply to your post comments
  • Talk to other people who are starting with you
  • Connect with other small creators over DMs ( don’t DM big creators bcoz they're never gonna reply )
  • Work on weekdays and rest on weekends (very important to avoid burnout)

2. Build in public

Building in public is a best practice as a creator. When you start, you're unaware of your niche, your audience, and your content. So, post everything about the thing you are working on.

Here’s how.

  1. Post a snippet of your product
  2. Ask for public opinion if you're facing a problem
  3. This also helps in promoting the product

3. Build an email list

Email list is the real gold; trust me when I say this.

My email list helps me on rough days. I curate an email carefully, and boom, a sale is on my way.

Owning your audience is a great way to monetize your business.

  • You can build your email list on Gumroad or Substack (they are free )
  • Get subscribers by promoting it regularly
  • Keep a lead magnet to attract people
